Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of Guangdong Province officially issued the "Guangdong Province Plan for Promoting the Pilot Construction of Carbon Footprint Certification for Products in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), which clarifies that by 2027, mutual recognition of carbon footprint labeling among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao will be basically achieved, forming a number of institutional achievements. The Shenzhen Hong Kong Ecological Environment Green Development Alliance organized a policy interpretation meeting as soon as possible, jointly organizing relevant departments, enterprises, and experts from both Shenzhen and Hong Kong to systematically sort out the core points of the "Plan" and deploy and promote implementation measures.
《 The Plan focuses on establishing and improving the carbon footprint management system for key products, proposing key tasks such as building a carbon footprint standard system for products in the Greater Bay Area, establishing a basic database, and cultivating a market service system. It clarifies the phased work goals: to complete the carbon footprint accounting and identification application demonstration of about 30 key products by 2027, and to complete the certification of about 100 key products by 2030, and comprehensively establish a carbon footprint management and service system in the Greater Bay Area. The relevant person in charge of the alliance stated that the introduction of the "Plan" provides clear guidance for the collaborative cooperation in the field of carbon footprint between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The alliance will rely on its platform advantages to promote the establishment of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Carbon Footprint Alliance Expert Committee, and help build a public service platform for carbon footprint management.
